The Algoma District School Board (ADSB) invites qualified applicants to apply for a full-time position as an Electrical Maintenance Worker.
Summary of Duties:
Under the direction of the Supervisor of Plant Maintenance the candidate must have the ability to work independently or as part of a team on various tasks related to maintenance, troubleshooting, problem solving and installation of Electrical and Mechanical equipment and systems.
Work will be primarily performed in the Central Algoma and Sault Ste. Marie areas of the Algoma District School Board from Goulais River to Thessalon with occasional travel required throughout the District of Algoma.
The successful candidate will possess a minimum grade 12, hold a certificate of qualification as an electrician (309A), and have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the electrical maintenance fields. The successful candidate will also require a minimum of two years’ experience in an institutional/commercial environment, have basic computer skills, and a valid Class G Driver’s License. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
Preference will be given to those candidates who also possess the following:
• Knowledge of Fire Alarm and Security Systems
• Knowledge of Building Management Systems and DDC controls
• Knowledge of package air handlers
• Certificate of Qualification in Refrigeration and A/C 313A
• Certificate of Qualification in Instrumentation and Control Technician 447A
• Knowledge of Boiler controls.
• Have experience with energy efficient construction.
Wages: $27.05 per hour, 35 hours per week
Tradesperson Allowance: $0.64 per hour (certified trades only), 35 hours per week. Unionized position. Paid sick leave plan, health, dental, life insurance benefits. OMERS pension plan
