Good chance of sightings at whale watch event | news

Volunteer guides will be available two days this weekend to help visitors to one of the area’s best-known whale-watching locations spot passing marine mammals, and organizers think this could be a prime year to do so after previous viewing seasons were dampened by an unexplained whale die off.

The Oregon Chapter of the American Cetacean Society holds its 10th Summer Whale Watch Weekend on July 30 and 31, with volunteer naturalists available from 10 am to 1 pm both days to help with spotting and provide background information about whales, dolphins and porpoises.
