Beloved Husband of Marsha Haffey; devoted father of John Kevin (Gail) Haffey, Michael (Catherine) Haffey, Colin (Cheryl) Haffey and Molly (Mark) Levine; cherished grandfather of Marin Haffey, the late Maeve Haffey and Cullen Haffey, Jack (Mykala) Haffey, Mary Haffey, Patrick (Lori) Haffey, Hayden (Brooke) Haffey, Ross Haffey, Audrey Levine and Betsy Levine; dear great grandfather to Maddie Haffey and Lucy Haffey. Jack was born November 20, 1933 in Cleveland, Ohio to Olga and John Haffey. He graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio class of 1958. There he was an active member of the Sigma Nu fraternity, played football and met his wife, Marsha Morse. After graduating from Miami, Jack was called to serve in the Army at Fort Belvoir VA where he and Marsha started their family. Having completed military service Jack began his career in packaging with St Regis / International Paper Company returning to Cleveland. While in Cleveland, Jack coached several years of CYO Football and Baseball at St. Louis School and President of the Parents Club. Jack and his family moved to Detroit, Michigan in 1974 where he became an active member of the community through volunteering to maintain the community gardens, dressing as Santa to hand out Christmas treats, assisting in Dad s club and church fundraisers and coaching little league. Jack was an active member and President of the Michigan Miami Alumni Association. In 1993 he was awarded the John E. Dolibo Award from Miami University for outstanding Alumni. Upon retirement in 1995, Jack and Marsha returned to Oxford. Both enjoyed the Oxford community and were especially blessed by their time at St. Mary Church. Jack was President of the Miami University Alumni Association, and spent several years volunteering at McCullough-Hyde Hospital and at the Miami University Art Museum. He also continued his lifelong hobbies of handball, painting, gardening and Miami Athletics. A visitation and memorial service will be held at St. Mary Church, Oxford OH to celebrate Jack s life on September 3rd at 10:30 with a visitation at 9:30.
