Hyderabad: Here’s some good news for travel enthusiasts. You can now explore the scenic beauty of Sam Mountain and Halong Bay and the magnificent rice terraces and beaches of Vietnam. The GMR Hyderabad International Airport is all set to launch Vietjet Air’s direct flight service from Hyderabad to three Vietnamese cities – Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, and Da Nang – from October.

Hyderabad airport will be the first airport in southern India where VietJet will be launching its non-stop service to multiple cities in Vietnam.

The maiden Vietjet flights to Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang are slotted to take to the skies on 7 October, 9 October, and 29 November, respectively. Each service will operate between Hyderabad International Airport and the popular Vietnamese cities four times a week.

Commenting on the new Vietjet services, Pradeep Panicker, the CEO of GHIAL, said, “There has been a trend of resurgence towards increased international travel over the past few months. Indian travelers are ready to explore exotic destinations. Vietjet’s new direct flight services connecting Hyderabad with Vietnam will not only boost leisure tourism but also facilitate trade and commerce to stimulate businesses across sectors.”

Talking about the new routes, Jay L. Lingeswara, Vietjet commercial director, said, “We are thrilled to strengthen our network in India with new direct flights starting from Hyderabad this October. We are glad to see an overwhelming response from Indian travelers and look forward to inspiring Hyderabad to experience the magic of Vietnam while also being a bridge to southeast and northeast Asian destinations.”

Besides Hyderabad, Vietjet is launching flights from Delhi and Mumbai and plans to expand its India-Vietnam flight network to 17 routes by the end of the year.

Vietnam’s growing tourism industry

With the Covid-19 pandemic ebbing off, over 3.5 lakh international visitors visited Vietnam in July, an increase of 49% compared to the previous month, making it one of the fastest growing tourist destinations in the world.

As a scenic and spectacular travel destination, Vietnam has everything for holidaymakers, nature lovers, and outdoor enthusiasts, including blissful beaches, marvelous mountains, breathtaking valleys, and exotic lakes. Vietnam is also dotted with eight incredible UNESCO world heritage sites.
