Hinsdale Police are looking for a man accused of breaking into cars early Saturday. At about 5am a man was seen stealing from cars in the neighborhood at Gateway and Park streets. Police believe the suspect was probably also the same person who was going through cars at Freedom Acres. The man is described as tall, wearing a black hat and black shirt with blue jeans or light gray pants with long hair. HPD is gathering video footage to share. If you have any information about who this man is, or if you found that your vehicle has been gone through, please call 603-336-7766.

An inmate has been found dead at the Southern State Correctional Facility in Springfield. Vermont State Police are investigating the circumstances of the death. The inmate’s name is not being released until family is notified. The inmate was discovered dead in his cell Sunday just after 3 pm, but officials say the circumstances of the death are not suspicious. An autopsy will be performed to learn the cause of death.

Brattleboro Select board, members hold a special meeting this morning at 9:00AM. They are expected to enter immediately into Executive Session to discuss the appointment or employment or evaluation of a public officer or employee. Invited into the executive session are Interim Town Manager Patrick Moreland, HR Director Sally Nix and Ellis Hankins.

Perennial GOP party placeholder Brooke Paige will appear on the November ballot in the race for Vermont secretary of state and treasurer. Paige won the Republican nomination for four offices — secretary of state, treasurer, auditor, and attorney general — but gave up the other races, forcing the state GOP Committee to find candidates for the other slots. Mike Tagliani of Corinth was picked for the AG’s race and Rick Morton of Brattleboro for auditor. They met Friday but couldn’t come up with a choice for treasurer other than Paige.

More progress this week on the rebuild of the Arch bridge over the Rock River in Newfane. Renaud Brothers has backfilled the first section of the side walls and tied rebar for the next section. This week, they will continue with tying rebar and forming the next section of sidewalls and cross wall for both abutments. Detours remain in place.

Vermont will host representatives from 55 Countries this week to Explore the Importance, Value and Concepts or Agritourism. The International Workshop on Agritourism is a global network of farmers and ranchers, tourism experts, researchers, educators, agricultural service providers, and others interested in promoting agritourism. This Workshop in Burlington brings together nearly 500 representatives from 55 countries to Vermont to explore how agritourism can benefit all. The event takes place beginning Tuesday in Burlington.

The A’s shut down the Yankees bats again on Sunday, beating New York 4-1. The Yankees take on the Angels in LA tonight, Frankie Montas on the mound for New York, first pitch is at 9:35.
