Mulky: ACEM, Rotary club celebrate Engineers Day

Mulky, Sep 19: Engineers day was celebrated by Mulky Rotary Club and Civil Engineer Association in Karnad Rotary Sabhabhavana. Jovin Prakash D’souza, Mulky Rotary club president, presided over the function.

Dr Ramesh Mittanthaya, dean and vice-principal of Nitte Engineering college was congratulated on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion he said, “Life is meaningful when we involve ourselves in the work of society. Children should be educated in this regard. The recently implemented National Education Policy by the Central Government is complementary to this objective. Education should benefit society. This objective is being implemented in the National Education Policy”.

Jeevan K Shetty, president Engineers association on the occasion said, “No one comes forward to learn civil engineering because no one is ready to work hard. Sir M Vishweshvarayya and Dr RN Shetty’s ideals should be followed by everyone. With the cooperation of all, Mulky has been converted into a taluk. Everyone’s cooperation is essential for Mulky to develop further. ACEM and Rotary Club have a mission to make Mulky a Smart Mulky. Moolikapur, which was famous for herbs, has become Mulky, and for this reason, Ayurveda Medical College for Mulky and Agricultural University should be established in Mulky as per the resolution taken during the state level agricultural fair held in Mulky Kolnadu in March. In addition to this, from Sasihitlu beach to Bappanadu temple should be developed as a tourism corridor. Beach tourism, backwater tourism, agro tourism, medical tourism, temple tourism should be codified and developed in Mulki taluk. This gives us an opportunity to create employment”.

M Narayan, Rotary assistant governor Sujith Salian, secretary ACEM Rotarian Ravichandra and others were present. Bhaskar Shetty, convener Mumbai bunts association higher education, Krishna Shetty Aggottu, ACEM vice president Sadik Mulky, joint secretary Varun, treasurer Naveen Periera, executive committee members Anup Kumar Shetty, Charan Kumar and K Harishchandra were present on the occasion.

Nishant Shetty Kilenjuru, president of Mulki Taluk Journalists Association Jeevan K Shetty, president of Engineers Association and other engineers were recognized and honoured. Raja Patrao, Jinraj Salyan anchored the programme. Bhujanga Kawattar proposed a vote of thanks.
