World Tourism Day 2022: Daksha Vaidkar, Bhopal. Tourism, one of the most affected industries during the Corona crisis, is back on track. A large number of tourists are flocking to Madhya Pradesh. In 2020 and 2021, 82 percent and 71 percent of the year-round tourist arrivals in the state, respectively, were completed in the first six months of 2022 (January to June). Tourism officials expect a large number of tourists to visit the state from July to December as the festive season begins. October, November and December are very special months in terms of tourism.

Principal Secretary of Tourism and Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board Shiva Shekhar Shukla said that MP is a prosperous state in terms of tourism. Rich in natural beauty, flora and fauna, the region is home to two Jyotirlingas, three UNESCO World Heritage Sites and 11 national parks, including six tiger reserves and 24 wildlife sanctuaries. Now in a few months tourists will see cheetahs running in the forests here. Madhya Pradesh has the distinctions of Tiger State of India, Leopard State and Gharial State. This is the reason why people like to come here.

According to Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation statistics, domestic tourists mostly prefer to visit religious tourist places in the state, while foreign tourists come in large numbers to enjoy jungle safaris in the state. Myhar, Chitrakoot, Amarkantak, Shivpuri, Salkanpur, Ujjain are their first choice from different states of the country. Foreigners moved to Bandhavgarh, Panna, Pench and Kanha. Many visited Khajuraho and Orchha.
